Our coursework we will explore contemplative practices for embracing wholeness at the threshold of life where terminal illness, deep suffering, and spiritual pain may arise. Courses will explore non-medical interventions in compassionate end of life care.

Northeast Ohio Medical School Clinical Epilogue and Capstone Fourth Year Medical Students
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will learn to: - Assess and respond to the non-medical needs of the dying. - Identify qualities of contemplative caregiving by participating in experiential workshops including life review, siting vigil at the bedside, and forgiveness practices.
- Discuss narrative medicine and the healing power of stories.
- Cultivate presence, deeper listening, and rapport building with the dying patient.
- Develop a conscious dying tool kit and deathing plan.
